Fly Fishing

Lakeview Arkansas is home to the beautiful White River. The river is 722 miles long and flows through Arkansas and Missouri. It is the perfect place to fish for trout such as rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. You can either get on a boat and get further out to fish or try your hand at fly fishing. Fly fishing is when an artificial fly or lure is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a reel, fly rod, and specialized weighted line. Casting an almost weightless fly requires casting techniques different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates, baitfish, other food organisms, or “lures” to provoke the fish to strike. Techniques for fly fishing differ with lakes and ponds, small streams, large rivers, bays and estuaries, and open ocean.
