Spring Flowers

Every Spring, our yard crew really gets into gear to
make the resort look as nice as possible.  We have a
great crew and pictured are only a few members from
our team.  They do an excellent job keeping the resort
in first class shape.  Pictured from left to right are Tom,
Jeremy, and Matt.

Two types of flowers that are very abundant right now
are the Ox-Eye Daisy and Tickseed.  These wildflowers
can be found all over our resort as well as many road
sides in the Ozarks.  They are both very plentiful.

Ox-eye Daisies are a 10-24 inch tall perennial, flowering from
May through July. Its white flower heads with yellow centers
are solitary at the end of branches. Persons picking the “pretty”
flowers easily spread Ox-eye Daisy plants.
Blooms August - November.

Tickseed is an erect, drought tolerant perennial which can
also withstand prolonged periods of moisture. Native to
the United States, east of the Rocky Mountains, it is now
found throughout North America. Flowers are bright yellow
affixed to a single, elongated stem. Will grow in partial shade
to full sun in various soil types.

We have been very popular in the media lately.  Here are a few
of the magazines we have been mentioned in within the last
several weeks.  We have also been on In Fisherman television
several times lately, you can catch the program on The
Outdoor Channel if you have it.

Active Years Readers Vote Gaston's #1 Resort

This month, the readers of Active Years voted Gaston's
as their favorite resort for 2005!  Any resort in the country
could be voted for, but Active Years is mostly distributed
within Arkansas.  So thank you to everybody that voted
for us, we appreciate your kindness!

Southern Living feature

We were, once again this month, featured in Southern Living.  This
time, it was for being one of the top locations in the South.  We were
voted as the best fishing location in the Southern states and appreciate
this distinction.  Just think how much better the fishing will be when
Minimum Flow goes into effect.  :-)

Mid America Outdoors feature

We were also featured in the Mid America Outdoors
magazine.  We had the cover as well as a nice write
up in the "Destinations" section of the magazine.

AutoPilot Magazine feature

The excellent AutoPilot magazine ran a great story
on us as well.  This was in their "Destinations" section
and had a really good write up along with great photos.
