Water generation has been running
one, two, or three units around the clock for about a week. Trout fishing has been excellent during these water conditions.
Red worms are catching many trout. Wax worms tend to
catch more trout when they are accompanied by a Yellow Power Egg.
The hot artificial lures that catch trout now are Mepps, Brown Rooster Tails,
Colorado Spoons and Buoyant Spoons.
The best flies reported are the Olive Bead Headed Whooly Bugger,
Squirrel Nymphs, 1/64th oz. Pink Jig and the Bulbous Bivisible.
Be careful and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Lunker Brown Fishing Is EXCELLENT
NO CLOSED SEASON
Fishing the White River is allowed 12 months out of
the year. The months of November through March offer some of the best lunker trout
catches of all seasons, however, fishing is good all year as the water temperature remains
an approximate 50 degrees throughout the year.

Trout Recipes

Serves:

Ingredients
6 trout filets
3 cups fresh mint leaves, lightly packed, or
3/4 cup crushed dried mint
3/4 cup olive or salad oil
6 strips of bacon
1 tablespoon salt
Directions
Mash fresh mint with salt to release the flavor; add oil. If using dried mint, mix with salt and oil. Place the mint mixture on top of each fillet and roll.
Wrap each fillet with one strip of bacon; secure with toothpicks. Broil over coals, 4-6 inches from source of heat, for 4-5 minutes.
Turn and cook 4-5 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.

Catch-n-Release
Use
barbless hooks.
Land the fish as quickly as possible.
When unhooking the fish, keep it in the water as long as possible.
Wet your hands before you touch the fish.
Don't squeeze the fish or stick your fingers in its gills.
Cut the line if the fish has swallowed the hook.
