White River Fishing Report...
Since 1995 - For Twelve Years !!
Dec 30, 2006 - Jan 12,
2007
Once Again we are experiencing
very mild weather in the Ozarks. We also have been getting rain and our lake level is back to
normal power pool. This week we have seen an increase in water generation. One day we had 7 generators on and another day 2 and 3 generators. This increase in water will
help the artificial lure fishing for big Browns. Rogues, Countdown Rapalas and white Jigs will all become more popular if this water is left running. Power Bait, live worms, and night crawlers will still work great in this moving water.
Remember, do not try to anchor your boat during fast water conditions!
Best flies in the higher water is San Juan Worms, egg pattern flies and small jigs. We are getting excited about this higher water because it usually coincides with the Shad kill. So get ready, put some new line on your reel and come see us!
Remember to ask questions at the office and or dock before you hit the water! Be careful and dress in layers during the winter months.
The
weather reports are calling for much cooler weather this coming week. If
such is the case we could have the first large shad kill. Of course such
is up to Mother Nature.
November 1st to February 1st a 3/4 mile section of the White River is close for
Brown Trout spawning, from Bull Shoals Dam down to the wing dike (barrier next to Bull Shoals White River State Park Trout Dock).
Good luck with your fishing and take a buddy along to enjoy fishing also
and to make memories of a life time.
Have
fun on the river and always careful.
Ron
BULL
SHOALS LAKE LEVEL
Date:
1.12.07, Lake Level: 653.81 msl
Last Week: 653.41 msl (Power Pool is 654 msl)
MSL is
mean sea level. When we say that the lake level is 654
MSL, that means that the top of the lake is 654 feet above sea level.

"Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
Some blunders and absurdities crept in;
Forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
You shall begin it serenely and
With too high a spirit to be encumbered
With your old nonsense."
